Going to a party
Apr. 15th, 2005 10:04 pmTomorrow it's going to be party time.
It's been a while since I've last spent a whole weekend partying, but I'm quite looking forward to it.
But first ... sleep time.
I haven't slept very well these last few nights. I was worried about my grandmother.
To my infinite relief my grandmother survived her surgery, and I'm told she's on the way to improvement. I went to visit her in the hospital on Wednesday, and while she was very happy to see me, there was this uneasy feeling that this just might have been saying good bye to her. At age 90, and with a very weak heart, surgery is rather dangerous.
But she was adamant the surgery should be done, because it was either that and taking a chance now, or slow degradation. And she says she's more scared of being helpless than of death.
I'll remember that situation when I next think I'm facing tough decisions.
