You took the words right out of my mouth
Jun. 7th, 2005 09:00 pmYesterday I had a real blast of an evening. I was on my way to the subway station from work when I saw an advertisement for ... a Meat Loaf concert in Bonn. Whoo. I'm sure I had something magnificent planned for the evening, but when I got my pulse back under control I really, really couldn't think of whatever it might have been. Ahem. So I deposited my stuff at work and ran back to the concert area near the art museum. I was just on time, bought a ticket - I had dreaded all the time that none would be available - and went in.
I'm probably Jim Steinman's biggest fan (the composer behind Meat Loaf), and Meat Loaf is a wonderful performer. The concert was just great. All the classics, two hours of all the finest rock, and we had some fun singing along in the audience. Everyone knew all the songs ...
There was only a single song that nobody knew. It was announced as being from "Bat III". Yes, apparently they ARE working on Bat out of Hell III.
Oh, and that Vampire Bat from the Back Into Hell cover looks really impressive as a stage background when it is drawn several meters high against a fiery sky. By the end of the concert I was so strung up I was even thinking that it is positively cute.
