The day's work
Feb. 6th, 2005 09:16 amIt's sunday morning, and I am again about to start working on my thesis project. The code is coming along great, and I'm impressed with Java's speed. 5000 runs of a 250 day simulation take about 6 seconds. Apparently the code is good to the hotspot compiler, as most of the time is spent looping over very few instructions.
The constant routine of regular work during the day and more work on the thesis in the evenings and on weekends is getting to me, though. I'm just glad I have a steady internet connection. While coding, I'll always have one or two chat windows open on the side. This way at least I don't feel like I'm losing all contact to the rest of the world.
Of course this does not cure my kittycat deprivation.
